Twelfth Night at Ashton Court Mansion Bristol

Reimagined Shakespeare comedy comes to Bristol this October

A new reimagining of Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night, will be coming to Bristol as part of a sell-out tour.

The Oxford Rep Company, will be bringing the play to the city’s atmospheric venue Ashton Court Mansion.

Live music and an original score will be bringing the ‘passion and chaos of Illyria’ to life, the theatre company says.

It’s directed by Bristolian Siena Jackson-Wolfe, who is now one of the theatre company’s resident actor directors.

The Oxford Rep Company says the creatives in their theatre team have a ‘shared passion’ for bringing a ‘fresh and inventive’ adaptation to much-loved classics.

The company’s latest production – Twelfth Night – is described as being for ‘anyone who’s ever loved the wrong person, laughed at the wrong moment, or stayed too long at a party they wanted to leave.’

It’s ‘not a glittering romance’. The company’s production explores a world where ‘identity is fragile, power is performative, and cruelty is easily mistaken for fun.’

Twelfth Night will be at Ashton Court Mansion on the 02 – 03 October 2025
