Wicked – The West End and Broadway Smash Hit Musical – Returns to The Bristol Hippodrome

We might be wrapped up with the busy Christmas season, but don’t be a seat loser to this huge hit musical returning to Bristol early next year.

Wicked opens at The Bristol Hippodrome on Wednesday 31 January, running until Saturday 03 March 2018.

The critically acclaimed musical based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, tells the story of two sorcery students who will go on to become Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. The show features characters originally created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Cast includes  Amy Ross as Elphaba, Helen Woolf as Glinda and Aaron Sidwell as Fiyero.

The get-in for the show is going to be brutal, with 14 articulated lorries delivering the show’s sets, costumes and props which will take a backstage team of 60 to put together over three days.

The impressive mechanical dragon which presides over the proscenium arch has a wing span of 11 metres and will sit 7.5 metres above the on-stage action.
