Stray Kids Listening Party Freebies Sadness at Bristol HMV
Pure chaos as fans try to bag K-Pop Freebies
It’s not entirely clear if HMV Broadmead knew what was going to hit it with a Stray Kids Listening Party which advertised ‘freebies’.
The upstairs of the store was packed well ahead of the event time of 2pm. A large number of Stays – the name for Stray Kids fans – were optimistically waiting on the ground floor.
A 2pm the album was put on…and in less than 2 minutes the freebies were gone. There were lots of sad young people leaving empty handed.
Stray Kids’ brand new album Do It, had sold out in the store first thing that morning.
Some Stays were making do with a copy of Karma instead. Pockets of Stays took the opportunity to trade photocards. This gave fans a chance to get hold of their bias – the word given to a K-Pop group member who is a fan’s favourite.
Those exiting the store found themselves descending into those hopefully waiting downstairs. Staff were on hand to keep the flow of people moving at the hugely popular event.
The latest Stray Kids’ Comeback – the word for when new music is released in the K-Pop world by a group that has already debuted – Do It, went on sale just yesterday.
The Listening Parties taking place at select HMV stores over the weekend have been causing carnage with fans trying to get hold of the limited freebies.
Stray Kids have already made a Comeback with Hollow and Karma this year. They also played two sell-out dates at Tottenham Stadium back in the summer.
The internationally loved group is made up of the members Felix, Hyunjin, Bang Chan, Lee Know, Han, I.N, Seungmin and Changbin.
The group is one of the few self-producing K-Pop groups in the industry, making them stand out in the K-Pop world.
The group’s main production is done through 3RACHA, which is comprised of Bang Chan, Changbin and Han.
Gong Cha in Broadmead was picking up the Stay disappointment, with fans dropping in for its Felix Picks promotion which gives out free badges for fans buying select drinks.
