Support Local Events in Advance Bristol Venue Says

“More events than ever are being cancelled,” a popular Bristol venue is warning this week.

Loco Klub says that “rising costs” for both venues and artists have made it “more expensive than ever” to run events.

The venue cites costs including booking fees, travel and transport, electricity and staffing as major issues.

The higher costs are making events less accessible with promotors having to sell more tickets to break even. This is leading to the cancellation of events when ticket targets aren’t met in advance.

A change in the way audiences are buying tickets since the Covid pandemic has not helped. People are now buying tickets on the day instead of in advance.

Loco Klub says that people can help with the issue by “buying tickets in advance, showing up early and do our bit to help promote events we love.”
