Aardman Celebrates 50 Years With Special Concert

Big birthday bash will see touring show bring audiences animation with a live orchestra

They’ve been entertaining us for fifty years now with their delightful stories and quirky characters.

From the Creature Comforts and Lurpak Butter Man which graced our TV screens in the early days to Morph on children’s TV. Arguably their most loved characters of all time remain Wallace & Gromit.

The company has become synonymous with Bristol, creating its first professional work right here some half century ago. That makes it only right and proper for Carrot Productions to stage a big birthday bash in the city.

Aardman in Concert – 50 years of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Friends, will be coming to the Bristol Beacon in June as part of a major new tour to mark the company’s 50th anniversary. It will celebrate the iconic stories and characters we’ve all come to know and love. Better still, it will be doing so with an orchestra.

“Celebrating 50 years of Aardman with a live orchestra feels incredibly special,” Rachel Whibley, Managing Director of Carrot Productions, says.

“These are characters many of us grew up with, and now we’re seeing families bring their own children to experience them live. Creating something that parents, children and grandparents can enjoy together is exactly what Carrot, and our friends at Aardman, are about.”

The concert features a brand new montage sequence and score created just for the event.

The first half of the show will feature iconic scenes, adventures and characters from across Aardman’s history. Special guests Wallace & Gromit will also be popping along for a visit.

The second half – in Bristol – will see a full screening of A Matter of Loaf and Death on the big screen whilst the orchestra plays the score live.

Senior Attractions & Live Experiences Manager at Aardman, Molly Van Den Brink promised the concert would be a “joyful and uplifting” way of introducing children to a live orchestra.

The Bristol date forms part of a wider tour throughout 2026 which will include stops at Birmingham, London, Salisbury, Guildford and Chester.

Aardman in Concert – 50 years of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Friends will be at the Bristol Beacon on Thursday 11 June 2026
