Alzheimer’s Society selected as AJ Bell Great Bristol Run Official Charity

Partnership to raise £4m in funding for dementia charity

The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run has announced the Alzheimer’s Society as its official charity partner for its next event.

The two-year partnership is expected to raise around £4m in fundraising for the UK’s leading dementia charity.

This will go towards funding research, support services and a campaign for change.

The charity is campaigning to make dementia a priority for decision makers. It says that an ‘early and accurate’ diagnosis leads to care, treatment and support than can help people avoid ending up in a crisis.

Associate Director of Commercial and Partnerships at Alzheimer’s Society, Paul Reynolds said: “Dementia’s scale overwhelms the NHS, social care and the economy. Its complexity poses overwhelming challenges in how we research, diagnose and treat it.

“But, with new treatments on the horizon, we know that a better future is now within reach. That’s why we’re so proud to be selected for this partnership – collaborations like this are absolutely vital in supporting us to making that hope a reality.”

The hugely popular run will next be taking place on 10 May 2026. Places are available now.
