Barn Theatre Cirencester Launch 2022 Programme

The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, have launched their forthcoming season of theatre this evening, amongst a mix of speeches, performances and impromptu song.

Murder For Two – A new revival production of Kellen Blair and Joe Kinosian’s award-winning musical comedy Murder For Two, directed by Bryan Hodgson. Running from 4 February – 5 March 2022.

The Mozart Question –The world premiere of Vicki Berwick’s theatrical adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s beloved novel The Mozart Question, directed by Jessica Daniels. Running from 21 March – 30 April 2022.

Some Enchanted Evening – The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein – Paul Milton directs a new production of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical revue . Running from 6 – 28 May 2022.

Million Dollar Quartet – This follows the events of the December 04, 1956, recording session at Memphis’ Sun Studio that brought four of the music’s best talents together for a once-in-a-life-time event: Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley. It’s based on an original concept by Floyd Mutrux, who also directed the original production. The new revival of the one-act musical features the songs of the legendary performers and book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. Running from 06 June – 16 July 2022.

Driving Miss Daisy – This new production of Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Driving Miss Daisy will debut to mark the play’s 35 anniversary. Running from 19 August – 17 September 2022.

The Girl on the Train A new staging of Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel’s adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ gripping mystery thriller novel. Running from 26 September – 29 October  2022.

The True Adventures of Marian and Robin Hood –  Alan Pollock returns for his fourth annual Christmas production with The True Adventures of Marian and Robin Hood . This new take on the classic tale follows archer, swords-woman, and trick rider Marian as she joins forces with her childhood nemesis Robin to thwart her hapless husband-to-be, the Sheriff of Nottingham, and overthrow his evil protector Prince John. Running from 21 November 2022 – 7 January 2023.
