Bristol City Council Coronavirus Museums and Libraries Close
Bristol museums and libraries will close until May 2020 due to coronavirus
Bristol museums and libraries will be closing their doors temporarily this week until 01 May, so that Bristol City Council can focus on ‘critical services and public safety’ during the coronavirus pandemic.
Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and M Shed will be closed with Blaise Museum, Red Lodge and Georgian House not opening at the start of the new season on 01 April.
Bristol Archives will also be closed, but virtual services will carry on running.
From Thursday, Bristol Libraries will also close, though online services will continue. Hartcliffe Library @Symes and Lockleaze Library in Cameron Centre are already closed. Extended access libraries in Stockwood, Westbury and St George are also closed.
Fines will be waived so library users do not have to worry about overdue items or renewals. Libraries will not be able to receive books during the closure, so the public is being asked not to attempt returning them or leaving them on doorsteps.
