Bristol theatre-goers will be disappointed to hear the latest though unsurprising, news from Ambassador Theatre Group. The company have suspended all performances at the theatre, as well as other theatres in their venues across the UK until Sunday 02 August 2020.

This will affect performances at the Bristol Hippodrome, which has been closed since 16 March 2020.

A statement released on social media by the theatre said: “Due to COVID-19, we are sorry to confirm that all performances at Ambassador Theatre Group venues across the UK have been suspended until Sunday 2 August.

“If you have a booking that is affected by this suspension, you do not need to do anything. Over the coming weeks we will contact you directly and will be able to handle all your requests and enquiries.

“We have successfully rescheduled hundreds of wonderful shows all the way through to the end of 2021 and we thank everyone for their patience as we automatically move these customers into the new dates and contact them with all the details.”

The theatre is asking customers to bear with them while they work through contacting all the customers whose bookings will be affected by the suspension. The theatre says customers can get a ‘full credit vouchers, including all fees, that is valid to use on future shows up to 31 December 2021’ for shows which have been postponed – not yet rescheduled.
