Bristol Old Vic Coronavirus Closure and Fundraising Campaign
Bristol Old Vic has announced its closure until the end of April and is asking for donations
The theatre is suspending all performances at its theatre until the end of April. Everyone who has bought a ticket for any of the shows between today and the end of April will be contacted by its box office staff to discuss options. They are asking customers to be patient as the team works through all of its sales.
The Bristol Old Vic is also ‘re-configuring’ its engagement programme, including the Bristol Old Vic Young Company which works with children and young people. Parents and carers will be contacted directly by staff.
It’s describing the situation as ‘unprecedented’ hoping where possible to reschedule visiting work into the coming year.
In a statement, it said: “During this time, we will be working closely with other theatres, the Arts Council, Equity and DCMS to ensure that the interests of the independent artists who provide the rocket fuel for all of our creative industries are protected.”

The theatre is asking customers to consider donating the value of their tickets to the theatre to help safeguard its future once the crisis is over.
Continuing, the theatre stated: ‘We are enormously grateful for the understanding and support of our staff, our artists, and above all our audiences. We look forward to welcoming you back through the doors very soon.’
