Bristol Old Vic Will Bring “Magic of Theatre” To Communities in 2026
The theatre is launching a fundraising drive that will open next week
Bringing the “magic of theatre” to Bristol communities is at the heart of this year’s annual fundraising drive by Bristol Old Vic.
The theatre has been taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge for a decade raising £300,000.
This has seen the creation of programmes including Young Six Six and the Young Company City.
A member of the Young Company in Year 6 at school said the session they had joined was “really friendly” and a place where they felt “safe”.
This year, the theatre hopes to raise £55,000 for its Future Fund 260 appeal.
The fund has been inspired by the theatre’s 260th birthday year – which starts in January 2026. To celebrate, Future Fund 260 will see the theatre address inequality and systemic barriers blocking access to the arts. The long-term plan will ensure a new and diverse generation of artists in Bristol will be able to create and stage work – no matter their background.
“This year, for our 10th Big Give Christmas Challenge, we are raising funds for our Future Fund 260 appeal, supporting our work with young people and emerging artists,” Bristol Old Vic’s Strategic Development & Fundraising Director Tamara Pink says.
“This appeal is all about securing the future of our historic theatre and we hope people across Bristol and beyond will help us reach our biggest target yet!”
All donations made to the theatre through The Big Give website from Tuesday 02 December – Tuesday 09 December 2025 will be doubled for free.
