Bristol Theatre Company Brings A Bright New Boise to Clifton Theatre

Early booking is recommended as Misplaced productions sell out

Misplaced Theatre marks a comeback to the Bristol stage this Spring, with a dark comedy exploring the themes of family, faith and fundamentalism.

The theatre company promises a “thought provoking show” with their production of Samuel D Hunter’s A Bright New Boise.

The play is set in the bleak break room of a craft store in Idaho, where someone is summoning the Rapture.

Will Cronin is a new employee at Hobby Lobby. He’s aiming to rebuild his relationship with Alex, the teenage son he had adopted.

He’s also looking for a fresh start after being implicated in a scandalous tragedy at his Evangelical church.

Will Hobby Lobby give him the stability he needs? The grandiosity of his troubled beliefs and his hunger to connect could throw the hobby lobby eco system into chaos. 

It’s hard to believe Misplaced Theatre has only been around for the last four years. The company has staged some real bangers.

There’s been plays such as Philip Ridley’s Tender Napalm, John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt: A Parable and Joanna Murray-Smith’s Switzerland.

The company has also brought brand new writing to the stage, including Madison Cole’s Inferna and Marley Starkey-Joyner’s Forward.

A Bright New Boise will likely follow in the same vein so early booking is recommended.

Amy Tanner directs a cast of actors drawn from across the south west region.

The cast includes Jaleelah Galbraith, Tyler Landry, Maya Hingorani, Rhys Myhill and Jack Parrott.

A Bright New Boise will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre 14 – 18 April 2026
