Dismaland Ten Years On

We managed to dig out some photographs of the event

If Facebook Memories hasn’t jogged your memory, its been ten years since Dismaland was running in Weston Super Mare.

The temporary art event made its home at the Tropicana on the waterfront. The former tourist attraction in the town provided the perfect place to mix art, anarchy and disappointment.

We still have the programme, poster and Hook A Duck From The Muck prize. The ticket is in pieces, torn by the bemusement park’s ‘security guard’ on the day of visit.

We managed to dig out some photographs from the event. All messaging still extremely pertinent a decade later.

Weston Museum is currently running an exhibition of photographer Barry Cawston project Are We There Yet? The project documented both Dismaland and Weston Super Mare’s town centre.
