Mark Farrelly is back at the Alma Tavern Theatre this July with a Sunday matinée of The Silence of Snow: The Life of Patrick Hamilton.
The solo show dives into the life of British playwright and novelist Patrick Hamilton.
Hamilton’s two most successful plays – Rope in 1929 and Gas Light in 1938 – were both made into famous movies.
Despite his success, which includes novels Hangover Square and The Slaves of Solitude, Hamilton struggled with alcoholism.
The Silence of Snow: The Life of Patrick Hamilton asks – Why do so many of us get through life without feeling we ever truly knew another person?
The play blends original writing with that of Hamilton’s. It’s set in an electro-therapy clinic in the 1950s and covers all of his turbulent life.
Audiences have described it as ‘witty’ and ‘engaging’ .
