Is My Chemical Romance Goth or Emo? It’s one of the questions asked in Tiffany Rhodes’ new show Let’s Unpack That.
Backstage Bristol can answer that right now. It’s definitely Emo. But this show – which is coming to The Wardrobe Theatre – looks like a lot of fun.
It’s based on Tiffany’s real life teenage diary from 2007. The show explores themes of media misogyny, casual homophobia and impossible body standards – with plenty of noughties nostalgia. Remember inflatable sofas and Motorola Razrs? Memories unlocked.
With plenty of panda Rimmel eyeliner, poorly aged jokes, teen angst and being queer and neurodivergent, this show unpacks everything it was to be a girl growing up in the 00s.
