Free Tickets for The Art of Quantum – Dance and Physics Event in Bristol
Dance and science comes together once more for day-long event in Bristol
Dance and physics may seem like a strange artistic concept at first. But, when it comes together in live performance, it not only makes perfect sense, it makes science much easier to understand.
Last summer, South West Dance Theatre created and performed Aperiodic by way of Ballet, Breakdancing and Hofstadter’s Butterfly. The work – commissioned by Bristol University as part of Aperiodic Festival – was performed in both Bristol and Bath.
The dance company are back this April with The Art of Quantam. It’s part of a day-long event celebrating UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology which will mark World Quantum Day.
Events already slated to take place include:
- Talk by Senior researcher in theoretical physics and author of The Magick of Matter Felix Flicker
- Talk by PhD student and expert in photonics engineering Imogen Forbes
- Panel discussion with PhD student and expert in quantum memory Meagan Hough
- 3D mapping art installation demonstrating matter made of particles and the measurement problem with James Bragg
