Marx in Soho @Riddle’s Court Edinburgh Fringe Regional Theatre News

Marx in Soho @Riddle’s Court Edinburgh Fringe: Washington DC’s The Marx Sisters have brought a piece of theatre based on historian and activist Howard Zinn’s Marx in Soho.

Actor Mary Myers, resurrects Marx from the dead, bringing a fresh unique perspective on the philosopher’s ideas.

The one-woman production runs until 26 August at PQA Venues @Riddle’s Court (venue 277).

Director Angela Kay Pirko says: “The Marx Sisters have a dream. None of us wanted to see Marx in Soho shelved after its critically acclaimed run in the US in 2017, so we asked, where in the world should we take it? The answer was, of course, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It felt like a chance to share a piece that is deeply American with a world stage of theatre-lovers. We’re taking Marx to Edinburgh and we think he’d like it there. And we think this is the first time he has been re-incarnated as a woman. This piece is more relevant than ever today, wherever we take it in the world. The revolution is in us, if we make it so.”

Age recommendation 12 years upwards.
