Movie Musicals Dominate UK Soundtrack Favourites
Grease is the UK’s favourite movie soundtrack, according to a study by Showcase Cinemas who are currently celebrating the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
A total of 2000 people took part in the study, with 23 per cent of them voting Grease into the top spot.
The 50’s set musical was followed by second place Dirty Dancing, preferred by 18 percent. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again made the top three, chosen by 16 per cent.
For individual songs, Whitney Houston took top spot, with 18 per cent voting for I Will Always Love You from The Bodyguard.
In second place was Bryan Adams’ “Everything I Do (I Do it For You)” from 1991s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, taking 7 per cent of the vote.
“Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers, famous for the pottery scene from 1990s movie Ghost came in at third.
