PAPAYA Fest 2019 at The Wardrobe Theatre and Old Market Assembly Bristol
PAPAYA Fest 2019:
Bristol-based arts collective Popelei, is running PAPAYA Fest 2019, a festival taking place at The Wardrobe Theatre and The Old Market Assembly this month.
PAPAYA Fest 2019 features a LGBTQ+ friendly message and champions female voices through a fusion of British and Latin American cultures.
Music will include Wara, a fiery mix of Cuban jazz funk with an urban London remix. Theatre includes Edinburgh Fringe hit Butch Princesa, 100 Years, Manuelita, Frida Khalo and Unfamiliar.
Artistic Director of Popelei, Tamsin Hurtado Clarke says: “We want PAPAYA Fest to be a celebration of unity – an example of all the wonderful things that happen when two cultures, inspired by one another, come together.”
The festival runs from 10-13 October 2019.
