Solve-Along A Mystery With The Company Of International Artists

This time it’s a solve-along show for the grown-ups

The Company Of International Artists are back on the stage – well the case – as the theatre company bring us a ‘grown-up’ version of their popular solve-along shows.

Under The Hammer is an immersive art mystery for the adults. It will be taking place at Bristol Improv Theatre in July.

The show is based upon the popular participatory format used in their children’s shows – which are always a lot of fun.

Mysterious intel suggests a Vermeer painting going Under The Hammer at a high-value art auction is not all as it seems.

Agents Kahlo and Dali of the Company Of Internation Artists are on the case.

Together with the audience, they will solve puzzles, codes and review evidence to solve the case before the culprit gets away with it.

Under The Hammer brings together theatre, improv and an escape room in this “who-dunnit” mystery. It’s been inspired by real art crime cases.

The show has been written, produced and is performed by Brave Bold Drama under co-artistic directors Gill Simmons and Paul Lawless. The company has been creating innovative and participatory work in Bristol for over a decade.

The Bristol Improv Theatre has a lovely speak-easy-style bar with a range of drinks and snacks available all night.

Under The Hammer will be at Bristol Improv Theatre on 18 July 2026
