Stable By Theatre Nisha UK Comes To Alma Tavern Theatre
The premiere of new play by Taruna Nalini comes to the Clifton Theatre this November
A brand new piece of writing from Theatre Nisha UK, will be coming to the Alma Tavern Theatre this November.
Stable is a gripping piece of writing by Taruna Nalini, exploring how dangerous the collapse of a therapist’s moral compass can be.
Psychologist Jack is drawn to his client – Ava – over the course of a series of therapy sessions. In his own therapy with Tara, he explores these feelings which result in the breakdown of the very safeguards in place for therapy, leading to devastating consequences.
Stable asks if the misuse of power can ever be forgiven?
A 15 minute section of the play featured at the Beyond Face showcase at Tobacco Factory Theatres back in 2023. Following that, a 30 minute excerpt of the show went on a south west mini tour with Uncaged Theatre.
Now for the first time, Theatre Nisha UK is excited to be bringing the full show to Bristol with Jacky Crosher directing.

Theatre Nisha UK, is the UK wing of Theatre Nisha, a company established in Chennai, India back in 2000. It aims to bring unique stories written by South-Asian writers to the UK.
So far the company has been on a UK-wide tour with two shows – Apradhini: Women Without Men by ‘Shivani’ Gaura Pant and Singarevva and the Palace by Chandrashekhara Kambara.
Playwright Nalini, is no stranger to the Bristol theatre scene. She’s a co-founder of Uncaged Theatre, a company promoting the work of early-career creatives in the south west.
In addition to Stable, she also co-wrote – Love You, Bye – with Meg Pickup for Uncaged Theatre.
Stable is at the Alma Tavern Theatre on Saturday 30 November 2024
