Sit-Op-Com comes to Clifton theatre this October

Destination: Old Hag, is a brand new show from (Uncredited) Presents. It’s described by the company as a ‘Situation Operatic Comedy’ or ‘Sit-Op-Com’. It will be taking to the stage of the Alma Tavern Theatre this October.

Set in the theatre’s broom cupboard – the one right next to the only toilet in the building, three ‘Ladies of the Chorus’ are preparing for the opening night of a small scale adaptation of Verdi’s Macbetto.

What follows is a focus on chorus life backstage ahead of a performance.

It’s written and performed by Bridget Hardy, Penny Rossano and Samantha Houston, consolidating their experiences of two decades working in opera.

You will likely have come across these characters before. They are the Cigarette Girls in Carmen. The Humming Chorus in Madam Butterfly. This time, they are Verdi’s Witches.

The show has been a popular production at this year’s fringe festivals with sell-out performances and great reviews.
