The Mexico Mission! Art Agents Return With New Adventure
Join the Company of International Artists this Easter for a solve-along detective show
This Easter, families are invited to a solve-along adventure at The Wardrobe Theatre. The award-winning Brave Bold Drama are returning with their third Company of International Artists theatre show – The Mexico Mission.
It’s been inspired by the work of both Frida Kahlo and her photographer friend Tina Modotti.
The Mexico Mission! has been created for families with children of around seven years upwards.
The audience will be invited to actively control the story through voting throughout the show. Art detectives Agents Dali & Kahlo arrive in Mexico to authenticate a newly discovered Frida Kahlo artwork.
The story will raise themes around forgery, money and art – what the company calls a “complicated mix”. They will ask “how do we even really know who to trust?”
The show is one of a trilogy featuring the two quirky characters. The smart writing encompasses a fast-paced adventure but with plenty of art references dropped in along the way.
Brave Bold Drama has been a popular fixture in Bristol since 2013, bringing to the stage original, devised theatre typically for family audiences.
The company has also done a great deal of theatre within accessible community spaces and even care homes. Their aim is to dismantle intersectional barriers preventing people from accessing cultural and artistic events due to financial reasons.
In total, Brave Bold Drama has created nine family shows, one for adults living with dementia and two performance installations, one of which was commissioned by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
The Mexico Mission! will be on at The Wardrobe Theatre on Monday 06 April 2026 at 2pm
