The Wardrobe Theatre Launches Season With Brand New Seating

The Old Market theatre has improved comfort with new teal seating

The Wardrobe Theatre in Bristol, has announced really cheering news this week. During the summer break, it has upgraded its auditorium seating ahead of the new season.

Artistic Director & CEO of The Wardrobe Theatre, Matthew Whittle made the announcement today saying: “Say goodbye to stiff backs and sore bums! Our seating’s hard wooden backrests have been fully refreshed and padded out, our seats restuffed and made larger, and everything has been full reupholstered. Come share the new season with us in heavenly comfort!”

The previous seating was built by hand and installed in 2015 when the theatre first opened in Old Market.

Having originally opened as a temporary pop-up theatre at The White Bear, its popularity meant expansion was necessary, leading to the arts venue in the former Old Market bank we know today.

The new seats have been padded out, re-stuffed and also made larger. They now have padded backrests in place of wood.

The new season is packed with new productions to book, including its iconic Christmas show. This year it will be Moulin Scrooge.
