Tobacco Factory Theatres to Transform Space with New Studio Theatre and Upgraded Facilities

Exciting news from one of Bristol’s most-loved theatres has been announced today.

Tobacco Factory Theatres will be completely reinventing their space next year, including creating a brand new studio theatre next door to the current space.

The £1.5 million project will see a multi-purpose 86 seated studio space with retractable seating form in one of the building’s former dance studios.

New Dressing Room

Performers will also benefit from transformed dressing rooms and front of house spaces will become even better.

The work will start to take place after the Christmas season and be ready for an autumn launch in October next year.

It is hoped that the project will give children and young people in particular opportunities to experience, create and take part in performances.

Improved Front of House Space

The project will begin works in January 2018 with all the new spaces open and functioning for a launch in October 2018.

It has been funded by the theatre’s own fundraising efforts as well as support from Arts Council England, Foyle Foundation and Tobacco Factory landlord George Ferguson.
