Vote For Your Favourite Bit of Bristol to Create Artwork
Bristol is a city bursting with iconic characters, features and buildings.
In celebration of its best bits, artist Nathan Wyburn is asking the public to vote for their favourite aspect of the city, which he will then commemorate in a piece of artwork.
Wales based Nathan came to recognition after reaching the semi final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2011.
He is now working with Cartridgesave.co.uk in an extension to their summer A Day In The Life. The social experiment concept involved Bristolians taking street photographs of the city during a 24 hour period.
Nathan said: “I love the idea of finding who or what embodies the word ‘Bristol’ in the eyes of the public and then creating a piece of artwork using so many diverse images of life in the city. It’s perfect.
“A Day In The Life is a brilliant concept that captures everyday life and people and I’ve greatly enjoyed looking at all the images that were created. They will last forever in their own right and also as part of my collage.”
The 24 hour photography event back in August saw residents in the city take 1500 images of life in Bristol, ranging from rough sleepers, buskers, party goers and wildlife.
The voting shortlist on which to base the new art has been narrowed down to the following:
Vaughan Williams
Wallace and Gromit
Archibald Leach
Clifton Suspension Bridge
Fry’s Chocolate
Nipper the HMV Dog
IK Brunel
Bristol Hippodrome
The SS Great Britain
Sir Bernard Lovell
Voting will be open until 11 November 2017, visit: http://www.cartridgesave.co.uk/printwhatmatters/a-day-in-the-life-bristol
