Casting Announced for Double Double at Barn Theatre

TV stars take to stage in a play that will keep audiences guessing until to the end

Two Coronation Street Stars will be be appearing in Double Double at the Barn Theatre this Spring.

Daniel Brocklebank who played Billy Mayhew from 2014 until 2026 will be playing Duncan.

Faye Brookes won a National Television Award for her role as Kate Connor in Coronation Street. She will be playing Philippa.

Ryan McBryde directs this production.

The revival of Double Double from Built By Barn, also celebrates its fortieth birthday. It opened way back in 1986 at the Fortune Theatre.

It’s written by Rick Elice and Roger Rees. It’s a witty psychological story of power, love and illusion.

Weeks before his 37 birthday, Philippa’s husband Richard dies – the birthday that the terms of his inheritance required him to be alive and married. In the throes of grief, Philippa hatches a plan: find someone she can pass off as Richard and split the £2million windfall.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Daniel Brocklebank and Faye Brookes to the Barn to star in Double Double,” Barn Theatre Executive Director and Producer Liam McMullan says.

“Daniel brings tremendous depth and charisma to the stage, and it’s a real pleasure to welcome Faye back to the Barn with her undeniable stage presence – it’s no wonder she’s always been a firm favourite with our audiences. We can’t wait for everyone to see them together in this brilliant, psychological piece.”
