Aperiodic Trinity Centre Bristol – Free Dance Event This Week
Aperiodic dance performance at the Trinity Centre blends maths and movement into a piece of ‘Sci Art’
What happens when you blend shapes, sums, mathematical abstraction with science? You get Sci Art, which in this case is a dance performance integrating these concepts with ballet and breakdancing.
The title of the piece – Aperiodic – comes from the name given to patterns which are not quite random but don’t quite repeat either.
The performance is free to attend. A free dance workshop will also be running before the performance, which is suitable for all ages and levels of expertise.
The work has been commissioned by Bristol University for the A P ER I OD I C Festival.
Bristol-based dance company – South West Dance Theatre – will be providing the dancers for what promises to be a fascinating and beautiful performance.
Aperiodic will be at the Trinity Centre on Thursday 11 July 2024 – a workshop will be taking place directly before the performance
