Biscuit Barrel: 69-Sketch Show for Bristol Refugee Rights

This May, Bristol audiences can get a sneak peak of a show going to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, whilst also supporting Bristol Refugee Rights.

For one night only at the People’s Republic of Stoke’s Croft, audiences can see Biscuit Barrel’s: 69-Sketch Show. The performance features 69 quickfire comedy sketches, aiming to prove live comedy can been as entertaining and on point as endlessly scrolling social media content.

Biscuit Barrel has emerged from a fixture at The Bristol Improv Theatre. This latest ‘hyperpaced’ show ‘caters to TikTok’s destruction of the human attention span,’ Biscuit Barrel says. The company does this by taking the convention of a sketch show with snappy cuts.

The show has been written by Daryl Reader and James Horscroft with direction by Holly Meechan and Horscroft. The company are aiming to raise £600 for Bristol Refugee Rights, a group championing the rights of asylum seekers and refugees.

Ahead of the 27 date run at Gilded Balloon as part of Edinburgh Fringe, Biscuit Barrel: The 69-Sketch Show will be at People’s Republic of Stokes Croft (BS2 8TJ) on 28 May 2023.
