Craig Fuller Captures Macbeth Rehearsals at Tobacco Factory Theatres
Rehearsal images released ahead of this month’s opening night
Photographer Craig Fuller has done it again, with a selection of dynamic rehearsal shots of Tobacco Factory Theatres’ forthcoming production of Macbeth.
This year’s choice should thrill Bristol’s GCSE English Literature students, coming just before exam season.
The south Bristol theatre’s Artistic Director, Heidi Vaughan, once again directs, following on from last year’s Shakespeare success The Winter’s Tale.
“Macbeth is a play that feels relentlessly current,” she says.
“It asks what happens when ambition overrides care, when individualism triumphs over community, and when power becomes more important than love. This production is about telling that story with clarity, pace and emotional force – through a company working together, in rhythm, as a true ensemble.”
Witches, ghosts, murder, power, political unrest and psychological thriller. It’s arguably Shakespeare’s finest play.
Stu McLoughlin is Macbeth, well known to the theatre’s audiences from both his Shakespeare work and regular visits with Living Spit.
“Shakespeare feels timeless,” he says.
“He’s one of our most modern writers, despite being one of our oldest. Macbeth is short, fast, and utterly relentless – and that makes it thrilling to perform. It’s a play that doesn’t let you hide from it.”

The rest of the cast joining Stu will be:
Patrycja Kujawska – Lady Macbeth
Saikat Ahamed – Banquo
Guy Hughes – Macduff
Jannah Warlow – Lady Macduff
Maggie Tagney – Duncan/Porter
Adam Mirsky – Malcolm/Murderer
Nia Tilley- Donalbain/Murderer
Phil King – Lennox
Alice Barclay – Ross
Maggie Tagney – Duncan/Porter
The theatre aims to welcome everyone to Macbeth, with two concession tickets available. One for those aged 18 and under. And a second one for those experiencing financial difficulty.
During the run, there will be BSL Interpreted Performances, Captioned Performances and a Relaxed Performance.
Macbeth will be at Tobacco Factory Theatres 19 February – 28 March 2026
