My Best Friend’s Wedding sees Alexandra Burke return to Bristol

Alexandra Burke will be making a return to the Bristol stage as food critic Julianne Potter in a musical adaptation of rom-com movie My Best Friend’s Wedding.

The UK tour of the show launches in Manchester in September 2021 but won’t be arriving at the Bristol Hippodrome until 02-07 May 2022.

The book is by Jonathan Harvey and Ronald Bass featuring music by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Rachel Kavanaugh takes the helm as director, with design from Colin Richmond and musical direction from George Dyer.

Songs include I’ll Never Fall in Love Again, I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself, Walk on By, I Say A Little Prayer and What’s New Pussycat.

The musical is based on the 90’s movie with Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz. Julianne isn’t big on romance until she finds out her ex is about to be married and vows to win him back. What could possibly go wrong.
