Singin’ In The Rain Bristol Hippodrome Casting
Must-see stage production of Singin’ in the Rain, is bringing with it a mighty cast when it rolls into Bristol this May.
The show, based on the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, gathered storming reviews when it opened at Chichester, the West End and Sadler’s Wells.
It’s now out on a whole new UK and Ireland tour this year, featuring Strictly Come Dancing fave Kevin Clifton as Cosmo Brown.
Sam Lips will appear as Don Lockwood, Charlotte Gooch as Kathy Selden and Jenny Gayner as Lina Lamot.
Further casting includes: Sandra Dickinson as Dora Bailey, Michael Matus as Roscoe Dexter and Imogen Brooke as Zelda Zanders.
The ensemble cast features Briana Craig, Alastair Crosswell, Lavinia Fitzpatrick, Alex Given, Ryan Gover, Ashleigh Graham, Thomas Inge, Robin Kent, Joshua Lovell, George Lyons, Amonik Melaco, Ross McLaren, Ashleigh Morris, Peter Nash, Dale Rapley, Molly Rees-Howe, Harriet Samuel-Gray, Heather Scott-Martin, Megan Speirs, Ben Whitnall, and Ellie May Wilson.
Silent movie star Don Lockwood has everything he could ever want – fame and adulation. He also courts the media with a well-publicised romance with co-star Lina Lamont. But studios are changing. Silent is out and new films featuring sound are in! Will Don and Lina make the transition to the all singing and dancing movies? And will rising chorus girl Kath Selden reach the heights of stardom she longs for.
The iconic rain scenes will use a whopping 6k litres of water through over 100 metres of heavy-duty rubber hose. To stop performers getting a chill, it’s heated to 37 degrees. The water will take 15 minutes to drain, but none of it’s wasted as it will be recovered, cleaned and re-used.
