Strapped by Toxic Shock Theatre at The Island
New play brings ‘queer take’ on crime genre
At The Island this week is Strapped by Toxic Shock Theatre, a new company promising to bring a ‘subversive and bombastic’ experience to Bristol audiences.
Strapped tells the story of a gay man who was murdered leaving his boyfriend’s flat. Neither the feds nor the press will acknowledge it was a homophobic attack, leaving the drag queens ready for war. Yeast Splendour vows to protest in any way she can…
The new play features cut throat drama and sparkling drag sequences, aiming to bring an ‘unapologetically queer take’ on the popular crime genre.
