The cast for the UK and Ireland tour of The Lion King, has been announced by Disney this week.
The juggernaut musical opens its tour in Bristol at The Bristol Hippodrome, running in the city from 07 September – 23 November 2019.

It’s 20 years since the show opened at the Lyceum Theatre in London, earning its place as the sixth longest-running West End musical of all time.
For the new tour, the role of Simba will be played by Dashaun Young, Nala by Josslynn Hlenti with Thandazile Soni as Rafiki.
Cast also includes Richard Hurst as Scar, Jean-Luc Guizonne as Mufasa, Matthew Forbes as Zazu, Alan McHale as Ed, Steve Beirnaert as Timon, Carl Sanderson as Pumbaa, Simon Trinder as Banzai and Rebecca Omogbehin as Shenzi.
The show has been in Bristol as part of a UK tour before, seeing the theatre’s Stalls seating rearranged, a cast of over 50 and sell-out performances with standing tickets sold to meet demand.
