The Pretend Company presents: Improv Cinema Club Part 1

It’s the tenth birthday edition of Cinema Rediscovered in July this year. Over 70 events will be taking place, including screenings of newly restored films, rarities, projection tours and cinema walks.

As part of the event, The Pretend Company will be running two improv workshops.

The first will take place on Friday 24 July 2026.

The second will take place on Sunday 26 July 2026

The Improv Cinema Club is part discussion group, part experiential improv workshop. It is an opportunity to bring emotion, personal reflection and theory together to better explore and understand two amazing art forms. Each session will be a mix of lecture, discussion and improv exercises.

The sessions are led by film critic and improviser Tara Judah and writer, director and improviser Chris Mead.

Ahead of The Pretend Company presents: Improv Cinema Club Part 1, watch Goodbye, Dragon Inn (Thursday 23 July) and/or any of the other films presented as part of Cinema Rediscovered’s Vive Le Cinema! strand which includes: Matinee, Les Sièges de l’Alcazar and Closed Circuit
