The record breaking improvised comedy returns in September
Closer Each Day is a Bristol institution synonymous with The Wardrobe Theatre.
It’s been going since 2011 making it the longest running theatre show outside of London. It’s also the UK’s only live soap opera. It’s almost made it to episode 300, which will be a landmark moment for the theatre and production company.
In February 2025, it celebrated 250 episodes with a typically dramatic and comedic performance.
If you’ve not been yet, September is your moment, for the show will return to the stage for Season 33.
Closer Each Day is an unscripted live show where literally anything could happen. It’s set in the fictional location of Newtown and brings audiences all you want from a soap – drama, affairs, romance and cliff hangers. There’s been murders, marriages and some right dastardly meddling.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never been before, there will be a recap right at the start. It’s extremely easy to become immersed in the show, making it suitable for binge watchers and newbies.
