The Sock Show Comes To Trinty Centre

A preview tour of a brand new outdoor acrobatic show is currently running in local communities across Bristol this summer.

Two performers, a massive pile of mismatched socks and physical circus performance will be wowing children in a fun celebration of sustainability and ‘ridiculous footwear’.

The Sock Show was commissioned as part of South Gloucestershire Council’s High Street Regeneration Programme. It has already been performed in Hanham, Chipping Sodbury, Staple Hill and Kingswood.

Future dates will see it play in Bristol, Thornbury, Yate and Paddington in London.

This coming Friday 07 August 2026, The Sock Show will be playing at Trinity Centre’s Family Summer Den Programme. The five-week programme at the St Jude’s based venue will see a weekly programme of creative and inclusive events for local families.

For families further afield, there are more opportunities to see the performance on South Gloucestershire high streets.

The company behind the show is Can’t Sit Still, a charity run by Artistic Director Cat Boot, with Jay Haigh as Company Manager and Lucy Kingsley as Engagement Director. They aim to create neuro-affirming and accessible work and opportunities for creatives and audiences that bring ‘joy, hope and connection’.

Some of the current projects running both in and out of schools are aimed at autistic girls and non-binary young people.

The company also creates experiences for those who think the arts ‘aren’t for them’ or for those who may find it difficult to access creative and accessible spaces – such as Disabled people, care experienced children, those with long term illnesses, neurodivergent people and Deaf and hard of hearing people.

Using ‘creativity and culture’ in a bid to ‘disrupt social inequalities’ and spread joy and connection through communities is at the heart of the company’s work.
