Prince Street Swing Bridge In Action

The 1879 swing bridge is expected to last another 100 years

As long as you aren’t in a hurry, watching the Prince Street Swing Bridge in action is fascinating.

The swing bridge uses water hydraulic power to move, which is housed in the engine house and tower. This can be seen in the background on the opposite side of our video.

The bridge was built in 1879 and is expected to last another century after repair work took place between 2015 – 2017.
