The Garden Theatre at Windmill Hill City Farm Announces Summer Season
It’s a special birthday year for the popular Bedminster farm
It’s the 50th anniversary of Bristol’s Windmill Hill City Farm this year. The much-loved city farm was saved from being developed from a bombsite into a lorry park by Bristol City Council in the 1970s.
After months of lobbying by local residents and volunteers, a Farm ‘taster’ event drew in over 1,500 people in September 1976. It was from that moment Windmill Hill City Farm grew into the special place it has become.
The Farm has announced a programme of events taking place this summer in The Garden Theatre. It will culminate in a 50th Anniversary Summer Fayre in September.
There’s plenty of events aimed at children and families to include live music, family theatre, puppetry, storytelling, performances and community events.
