Seven and a Half Years Alma Tavern Theatre
When Mark Glentworth was 16, he was one of the youngest percussion students at the Royal Northern College of Music. Following graduation, he went on to work with some of the most famous actors and practitioners in the country, including Steven Berkoff and Sir John Gielgud.
Glentworth is known worldwide for one of his early compositions Blues for Gilbert, one of the most performed tuned percussion pieces of all time. Certainly there’s video after video on YouTube of professional musicians performing his work.
Glentworth will be coming to the Alma Tavern Theatre this summer, with a new autobiographical musical – Seven and a Half Years – which he has written and will also be performing.
With direction by Julia Stubbs, the show will tell the true story of his life and work. From success to despair and new beginnings, through music.
Seven and a Half Years will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre from 27 – 29 June 2023
