Dear Eliza Comes to Alma Tavern Theatre

‘In a media culture that either villainises or victimises the mentally ill, Dear Eliza navigates the grey area with guts and defiance’

Barbara Diesel’s brand new play Dear Eliza, will be coming to the Alma Tavern Theatre this month.

The one-person show explores the deterioration of friendship when one person’s mental health and the fear of being a burden puts the relationship under strain.

Fusing heartbreak with humor, Dear Eliza has been created as an ‘honest tribute’ to real life when you are mentally unwell. The work has been described as being ‘very much about confronting unexpressed emotions within relationships, and saying out loud what you’d rather keep inside your head.’

The play is recommended for ages 16 years upwards.

Written and performed by Barbara Diesel
Directed by Helen Parry

Dear Eliza will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre from 06 – 07 February 2024
